- Add the cornmeal to the wet mixture and stir well.
- Sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the cornmeal mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased and floured 8-inch square or 9-inch round pan.
- Bake in a 425°F oven for 20 to 30 minutes until a cake tester inserted into the center comes out clean.
