Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup broken walnuts, pecans, or almonds
  • 1 tablespoon whiskey or brandy
  • 1 (14 oz.) package round Brie cheese (5 inches in diameter)
  • apple wedges
  • lemon juice
  • seedless grapes
  • assorted crackers

Instructions

  1. In a small mixing bowl, stir together brown sugar, nuts, and whiskey or brandy.
  2. Cover and chill the mixture for up to one week.
  3. Place the Brie cheese in a 9-inch pie plate or platter.
  4. Bake in a 500°F oven for 4 to 5 minutes or until the cheese is slightly softened.
  5. Sprinkle the sugar mixture over the top of the cheese.
  6. Bake for an additional 2 to 3 minutes or until the sugar is melted and the cheese is heated through.
