Nutty Crunchers offer a delightful combination of toasted mixed nuts coated in a sweet, caramelized brown sugar glaze, perfect for snacking or sharing at gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups mixed nuts
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/2 cup finely packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a large skillet over low heat.
  2. Add mixed nuts; sprinkle with salt.
  3. Toast nuts, stirring frequently, for 3 to 5 minutes.
  4. Beat egg white until stiff; stir in brown sugar and flour.
  5. Add the mixture to the nuts quickly, coating all nuts.
  6. Continue cooking over low heat, stirring frequently until the mixture is thick and dry, for 5 to 7 minutes.
  7. Spread out on a cookie sheet; cool.
  8. Break apart into pieces.
