Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yellow cake mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 2 c. applesauce
  • 1 c. oats
  • 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Grease a 13 x 9-inch pan.
  3. Combine the yellow cake mix, eggs, and margarine in a bowl.
  4. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 20 minutes.
  5. Remove from oven and pour applesauce evenly over the baked cake.
  6. In a separate bowl, combine oats and brown sugar until crumbly.
  7. Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the applesauce layer.
  8. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
  9. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
