Ingredients

  • 1 cup quick oats
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 6-ounce package chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Place oats in a food processor bowl or blender and process until finely ground; set aside.
  2. Cream butter in a mixing bowl.
  3. Add sugar and mix well. Add egg and vanilla and beat until combined.
  4. Combine ground oats, flour, and baking soda; add to the creamed mixture and mix thoroughly.
  5. Stir in chocolate chips.
  6. Drop by tablespoons onto a greased cookie sheet.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes or until golden.
  8. Remove from oven and transfer to wire racks to cool.
