- Boil 1 large fryer chicken and remove the meat from the bone.
- Chop the cooked chicken finely.
- Mix cornmeal, flour, eggs, finely chopped onion, chopped celery, salt, pepper, sage, and cream of chicken soup in a large bowl.
- Add a tablespoon of butter to the bread mixture and the chopped chicken, mixing well and adding broth from the boiled chicken to achieve desired consistency.
- Pour the mixture into a large greased pan.
- Bake in a preheated oven until the top is golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
