Ingredients

  • 2 c. White Lily corn meal
  • 1/2 c. White Lily flour
  • 6 biscuits
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 4 stalks celery, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. sage
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup

Instructions

  1. Boil 1 large fryer chicken and remove the meat from the bone.
  2. Chop the cooked chicken finely.
  3. Mix cornmeal, flour, eggs, finely chopped onion, chopped celery, salt, pepper, sage, and cream of chicken soup in a large bowl.
  4. Add a tablespoon of butter to the bread mixture and the chopped chicken, mixing well and adding broth from the boiled chicken to achieve desired consistency.
  5. Pour the mixture into a large greased pan.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven until the top is golden brown.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving.
