Chicken Royale
Chicken Royale features tender stuffed chicken breasts with seasoned bread crumbs, baked to perfection with a flavorful paprika coating, ideal for elegant dinners or special occasions.
Ingredients
- 4 whole boneless chicken breasts ⓘ
- 2 cups seasoned bread crumbs ⓘ
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion ⓘ
- 1/2 teaspoon salt ⓘ
- pinch of pepper ⓘ
- 1/4 teaspoon poultry seasoning ⓘ
- 10 tablespoons butter or margarine ⓘ
- 1/2 cup hot water ⓘ
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley ⓘ
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour ⓘ
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika ⓘ
Instructions
- Place chicken breasts with skin side down on a work surface; pound lightly with a meat mallet to an even thickness for stuffing.
- Combine bread crumbs, chopped onion, salt, pepper, poultry seasoning, melted butter, hot water, and minced parsley to make the stuffing.
- Place about 1/3 cup of stuffing on each chicken breast; fold in half.
- Secure each with toothpicks.
- Combine flour and paprika; coat each stuffed chicken breast with the mixture.
- Place the coated chicken breasts, skewer side down, in a greased 11 x 7 x 2-inch baking dish.
- Drizzle with remaining melted butter.
- Bake uncovered at 325°F (160°C) for 1 1/2 hours or until tender.
