Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 2 slices unsalted day old bread
  • 1 medium onion, minced
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1 tsp. dried basil leaves, crushed
  • 1 tsp. poultry seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Lightly pat the mixture into a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
  3. Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 1 hour.
  4. Let stand for 10 minutes before slicing.
