Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 stick butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Heat milk and butter together until mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat.
  2. Beat eggs and sugar until well combined and slightly frothy.
  3. Add flour and baking powder to the egg mixture, mixing until smooth.
  4. Pour the hot milk and butter mixture into the batter, stirring well.
  5. Add vanilla extract and mix thoroughly.
  6. Pour the batter into a prepared baking pan and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool before serving.
