Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 15 cups cubed stuffing bread
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon poultry seasoning
  • 1 cup water, bouillon or milk

Instructions

  1. Saute onions and celery in melted butter until lightly browned.
  2. Add bread cubes and remaining ingredients. Toss lightly until well blended.
  3. Use 1 cup of stuffing per pound of ready-to-cook turkey weight.
  4. An 8 to 12 pound turkey should be roasted approximately 4 to 4 1/2 hours in a 325° oven.
  5. This filling is also good baked in a baking dish and used as a side dish.
