Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 slightly beaten egg
  • 1/2 cup seasoned dry bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion, sautéed until clear and drained
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup Heinz 57 sauce
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Thoroughly combine ground beef, beaten egg, seasoned dry bread crumbs, sautéed and drained onion, milk, Heinz 57 sauce, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Shape the mixture into an 8 x 4 x 1 1/2-inch loaf in a shallow pan.
  3. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour.
  4. Let stand for 5 minutes before slicing.
