Ingredients

  • 1 frying chicken (2 1/2 to 3 lb.), cut into pieces
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup frozen lemonade concentrate
  • 1/2 cup catsup
  • 1 cup slivered onion strips
  • 1/2 cup slivered green pepper strips
  • 1/4 cup sliced stuffed olives
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Brown the chicken pieces in hot shortening in a skillet or oven-safe pan.
  2. Combine remaining ingredients in a saucepan and simmer over low heat until thoroughly blended.
  3. Spoon the sauce over the browned chicken.
  4. Cover and simmer until the chicken is tender, basting occasionally with the sauce.
  5. Serve hot, or place in a casserole and bake at 350°F if desired.
