Olive Barbecued Chicken

Ingredients
- 1 frying chicken (2 1/2 to 3 lb.), cut into pieces ⓘ
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup frozen lemonade concentrate ⓘ
- 1/2 cup catsup ⓘ
- 1 cup slivered onion strips ⓘ
- 1/2 cup slivered green pepper strips ⓘ
- 1/4 cup sliced stuffed olives ⓘ
- 1/4 cup butter ⓘ
- 1 clove garlic, minced ⓘ
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce ⓘ
- salt and pepper ⓘ
Instructions
- Brown the chicken pieces in hot shortening in a skillet or oven-safe pan.
- Combine remaining ingredients in a saucepan and simmer over low heat until thoroughly blended.
- Spoon the sauce over the browned chicken.
- Cover and simmer until the chicken is tender, basting occasionally with the sauce.
- Serve hot, or place in a casserole and bake at 350°F if desired.
