Orange-Cinnamon Bread (Bread Machine)

- 2/3 cup orange juice ⓘ
- 1/2 cup milk ⓘ
- 1 large egg ⓘ
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into pieces ⓘ
- 4 cups bread flour ⓘ
- 1/3 cup sugar ⓘ
- 1 orange, zest of ⓘ
- 1 tablespoon gluten, plus ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon gluten ⓘ
- 2 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon ⓘ
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 2 1/4 teaspoons fast rising yeast (or 2 3/4 t. bread machine yeast) ⓘ
- Vanilla-Orange Glaze ⓘ
- 3/4 cup sifted powdered sugar ⓘ
Instructions
- Add all the dough ingredients to the pan according to the order in the manufacturer's directions.
- Set crust on medium and program for the Basic cycle; press start.
- When the baking cycle ends, immediately remove the bread from the pan and place it on a rack.
- Place a plate or piece of waxed paper under the rack.
- Make the glaze: combine the powdered sugar, orange juice, and vanilla in a bowl; beat with a small whisk until smooth.
- With a large spoon, drizzle the bread with the glaze, letting it drip down the sides.
- Cool to room temperature to set the glaze before slicing.
