Ingredients

  • 2 cups crushed Oreo cookies
  • 6 Tbsp. softened margarine
  • 1 envelope unflavored gelatin
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1 (8 oz.) package softened cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Combine crushed Oreo cookies and softened margarine and press into the bottom and 1 1/2 inches up the side of a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. Soften unflavored gelatin in cold water.
  3. Stir over low heat until the gelatin is dissolved.
  4. Combine softened cream cheese and sugar, mixing at medium speed on an electric mixer until well blended.
  5. Gradually add the dissolved gelatin and milk, mixing until blended. Chill until the mixture is thickened but not set.
  6. Fold in Cool Whip. Reserve 1 1/2 cups of the cream cheese mixture.
  7. Pour the remaining cream cheese mixture over the crust.
  8. Top with chopped Oreo cookies and the reserved cream cheese mixture.
  9. Chill until the cheesecake is firm.
  10. Sprinkle crushed Oreo cookies on top for decoration.

Tips & Substitutions

For a richer flavor, consider using double-stuffed Oreo cookies for the crust. If you prefer a healthier option, you can substitute margarine with coconut oil or unsalted butter. To make the cheesecake even creamier, use mascarpone cheese instead of cream cheese. Ensure the gelatin dissolves completely to avoid lumps in the mixture. Chill the cheesecake longer if the texture is too soft.

Serving Suggestions

This Oreo Cookie Cheesecake is delightful on its own, but you can elevate it by serving it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of chocolate sauce. It pairs beautifully with coffee or a glass of cold milk for a perfect dessert experience. For a festive touch, consider adding fresh berries or mint leaves on top before serving.

Storage & Reheating

Store leftover cheesecake in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to five days. If you need to freeze it, wrap individual slices tightly in plastic wrap and then in foil to prevent freezer burn. To serve, let the frozen slices thaw in the refrigerator overnight for the best texture.
