- Dice the onion and finely chop the garlic.
- In a small amount of oil, cook the onion and garlic until transparent.
- Add ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, liquid smoke, water, salt, and pepper to taste to the skillet and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Peel and devein the shrimp.
- Wrap each shrimp with one strip of bacon and place in a small casserole dish.
- Pour the barbecue sauce over the wrapped shrimp.
- Bake at 450°F (232°C) for 10 to 13 minutes until the bacon is crispy and the shrimp are cooked through.
