Juicy shrimp wrapped in crispy bacon and coated in a tangy barbecue sauce, perfect for grilling or baking, ideal for casual gatherings and flavorful appetizers.

Ingredients

  • 6 jumbo shrimp (raw)
  • 6 strips bacon (raw)
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 1/2 cup red vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon liquid smoke
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Dice the onion and finely chop the garlic.
  2. In a small amount of oil, cook the onion and garlic until transparent.
  3. Add ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, liquid smoke, water, salt, and pepper to taste to the skillet and simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Peel and devein the shrimp.
  5. Wrap each shrimp with one strip of bacon and place in a small casserole dish.
  6. Pour the barbecue sauce over the wrapped shrimp.
  7. Bake at 450°F (232°C) for 10 to 13 minutes until the bacon is crispy and the shrimp are cooked through.
