Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. dark raisins
  • 1/4 c. chopped pecans
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. grated lemon peel

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water in a large bowl.
  2. Stir in 1 teaspoon sugar.
  3. Add eggs, 1/2 cup softened butter, 1/3 cup sugar, salt, vanilla, and grated lemon peel; mix well.
  4. Stir in remaining ingredients, except melted butter, mixing to form stiff dough.
