Ingredients

  • 4 to 6 steaks
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/3 cup bread or cracker crumbs
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 3/4 cup onions
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Trim the steaks.
  2. Dip each steak into beaten eggs, then coat with a mixture of grated Parmesan cheese and bread or cracker crumbs.
  3. Let the coated steaks stand while preparing the sauce.
  4. In a skillet, heat oil over medium heat and cook the steaks until browned on both sides.
  5. In a saucepan, combine tomato sauce, water, salt, pepper, and oregano. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer.
  6. Pour the sauce over the cooked steaks and serve hot.
