Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1/3 to 1/2 cup buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (hot).
  2. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese.
  4. Add butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse meal.
  5. Stir in enough buttermilk to just hold the dough together.
  6. Knead dough slightly on a lightly floured surface.
  7. Pat or roll out the dough to 1/2-inch thickness.
  8. Cut out biscuits using a 2-inch cutter.
  9. Place the biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven at 450°F for 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
