Parmesan Twist

- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Grease 2 baking sheets.
- In a medium bowl, beat together the Parmesan cheese and butter with an electric mixer until fluffy; add sour cream and beat.
- In a small bowl, combine flour and seasonings (thyme, oregano, basil).
- Beat the flour mixture into the cheese mixture.
- Knead dough lightly and divide in half.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out each dough half into a 12 x 6-inch rectangle.
- Cut each rectangle into twenty-four 6 x 1/2-inch strips.
- Hold each strip by the ends, gently twist 2 or 3 times, and place on prepared baking sheets.
- Brush the twists with the beaten egg yolk and water mixture.
- Sprinkle with sesame or poppy seed.
- Bake in the oven at 350°F for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
