Ingredients

  • 14 oz. uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 c. grated Parmesan or Romano cheese
  • 1/3 c. margarine or butter
  • 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 2 c. milk
  • 3 eggs, beaten

Instructions

  1. Cook macaroni as directed on the package; drain.
  2. Cook and stir ground beef and chopped onion in a 10-inch skillet until beef is light brown; drain.
  3. Stir in tomato sauce and salt.
  4. Spread half of the cooked macaroni in a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch rectangular baking dish.
  5. Cover with the beef mixture.
  6. Mix 1/2 cup of the grated cheese with cinnamon; sprinkle over the beef mixture.
  7. Cover the beef mixture with the remaining macaroni.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 30 minutes until heated through and cheese is bubbly.
