Ingredients

  • 14 oz package of caramels
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3/4 cup peanut butter, divided
  • 4 cups Cheerios
  • 1 cup salted peanuts
  • 1 cup semisweet or milk chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened

Instructions

  1. In a large microwave-safe bowl, heat caramels, water, and 1/2 cup peanut butter on high for 1 minute, then stir.
  2. Microwave for an additional 1 to 2 minutes until melted, stirring halfway through.
  3. Add Cheerios and salted peanuts, stir until coated.
  4. Spread the mixture in a greased 9x13-inch pan and set aside.
  5. In another microwave-safe bowl, heat chocolate chips, remaining peanut butter, and butter on high for 30 to 60 seconds or until melted.
  6. Spread the melted chocolate mixture over the Cheerios layer.
  7. Refrigerate until set before cutting into bars.
