Ingredients

  • 1 lb. butter
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 lb. cherries
  • 1 lb. pineapple
  • 1 lb. white raisins
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 6 Tbsp. grape juice
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 lb. pecan halves

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and sugar together.
  2. Add egg yolks one at a time.
  3. Stir nutmeg into grape juice and add to mixture.
  4. Fold in sifted flour three times.
  5. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
  6. Cube pineapple and cut cherries in halves.
  7. Roll all fruit and nuts into extra flour and add to the cake mixture.
  8. Bake in a 250°F oven for 2 hours.
  9. Increase oven temperature to 275°F and bake for an additional hour.
  10. Let cool completely in the pan before removing.
