Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup sugar

Instructions

  1. Cream butter, shortening, and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add eggs, flour, soda, and chopped pecans; stir until well blended.
  3. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet.
  4. Bake at 275°F (135°C) for 30 to 40 minutes.
