Ingredients

  • 1 cup pecans
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 1 cup confectioners sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups sifted cake flour
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

Instructions

  1. Start oven at 325°F and chop pecans rather coarsely.
  2. Cream butter and shortening together until smooth, then beat in confectioners sugar gradually.
  3. Stir in sifted cake flour thoroughly and add vanilla and chopped pecans.
  4. Mix well and drop by teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until cookies are a very delicate light brown.
