Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 2 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter and margarine together.
  2. Add the beaten eggs and mix well.
  3. Gradually add the flour, brown sugar, salt, and baking soda, mixing until combined.
  4. Stir in the chopped pecans.
  5. Drop teaspoon-sized portions onto a cookie sheet, placing them 2 inches apart.
  6. Top each cookie with half a pecan for decoration.
  7. Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes.
  8. Allow cookies to cool before serving.
