Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1 cup oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups cooked pumpkin
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon cloves
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2/3 cup water

Instructions

  1. Beat sugar and oil together until well combined.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the cooked pumpkin.
  3. Sift together the flour, baking soda, cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with water, and mix until just combined.
  5. Grease bread pans and fill them with the batter.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
