Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 c. nuts

Instructions

  1. Cream together the butter and sugar.
  2. Add the egg yolk and vanilla to the creamed mixture.
  3. Combine the flour, baking powder, and cinnamon.
  4. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  5. Grease a sheet cake pan and pat the flour mixture into the pan.
  6. Beat the egg white until frothy and spread it over the top of the mixture.
  7. Chop the nuts and press them into the mixture.
  8. Bake for 1 hour at 300°F.
  9. Cut while hot.
