Peg's Dessert is a luscious layered treat featuring a crunchy pecan crust, creamy cheese filling, chocolate pudding, and cool whipped topping, perfect for special occasions or gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 cups pecans, chopped
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups Cool Whip (13 oz. size)
  • 2 (4 1/2 oz. size) packages instant chocolate pudding
  • 3 1/2 cups milk

Instructions

  1. Melt butter and mix in flour and chopped pecans.
  2. Spread evenly in the bottom of an 11 1/2 x 7 1/2 x 1 3/4-inch baking dish.
  3. Bake for 20 minutes at 350°F.
  4. Allow to cool.
  5. Whip together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and 2 cups of Cool Whip until smooth.
  6. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cooled crust.
  7. Mix pudding and milk until well combined.
  8. Spread the pudding mixture over the cheese layer.
  9. Cover with 1/2-inch of Cool Whip.
  10. Grate an Almond Hershey bar and sprinkle on top.
  11. Refrigerate or freeze until firm before serving.
