Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 beaten egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vinegar
  • 1/4 c. cold water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Sift flour, sugar, and salt together.
  3. Cut in shortening with a pastry cutter until the mixture resembles crumbs the size of peas.
  4. Blend together beaten egg, vinegar, and cold water.
  5. Lightly blend the liquids into the flour mixture with a fork to form a soft dough.
