- Beat together butter and sugar until fluffy.

- Butter and flour an 8-cup fluted mold.
- Pour in batter.
- Bake at 350°F for about 1 1/2 hours or until a tester inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow cake to stand 5 minutes inverted; remove cake from pan and finish cooling on a cake rack.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
