Ingredients

  • crabs
  • salt
  • pepper
  • bay leaves
  • lemon
  • crab boil
  • cloves
  • lemons
  • onions
  • celery
  • 2 c. cooking oil
  • 1 c. vinegar

Instructions

  1. Boil crabs as usual with salt, pepper, bay leaves, lemon, a few cloves, and crab boil.
  2. Clean crabs by removing backs and inedible parts.
  3. Break crabs in half and remove claws.
  4. Put crab halves and claws into a gallon glass jar.
  5. Combine lemon (including rind), onions, celery, oil, and vinegar in a blender.
  6. Blend together until smooth.
  7. Pour the blended mixture over the crabs in the jar.
  8. Let stand overnight to coat and season, shaking occasionally.
