Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. slivered almonds
  • 1 can pineapple pieces
  • 2 1/4 cups flour, sifted
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. almond extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine sifted flour, sugar, baking powder, and slivered almonds.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat softened butter and eggs until smooth.
  4. Add almond extract to the butter mixture.
  5. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  6. Fold in the pineapple pieces thoroughly.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased baking pan.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the torte to cool before serving.
