Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons soda
  • 1 large can crushed pineapple
  • 2 whole eggs beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup coconut
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup sugar

Instructions

  1. Combine the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, salt, and soda.
  2. Add crushed pineapple and stir until well mixed.
  3. Add beaten eggs and mix thoroughly.
  4. Add vanilla and mix again.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased and floured sheet cake pan.
  6. Sprinkle 1 cup of coconut over the batter.
  7. Bake in a 350 degree Fahrenheit oven for 35 minutes.
  8. For the icing: mix butter, milk, sugar, and vanilla in a saucepan.
  9. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  10. Sprinkle nuts on the cake.
  11. Spread the hot icing over the cake.
