Ingredients

  • 1 large ripe pineapple
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice

Instructions

  1. Remove leafy top of pineapple and reserve.
  2. Cut pineapple lengthwise into 8 wedges.
  3. Core each wedge and slash vertically 1 inch apart down to but not through the skin.
  4. Heat butter in a small saucepan on the grill until melted.
  5. Add honey, lime juice, and ginger to the butter and mix well.
  6. Brush the cut surfaces of the pineapple with lime juice.
  7. Place pineapple spears on the grill and cook for 15 minutes, turning every 5 minutes and brushing with the lime mixture.
