Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 (No. 2) can crushed pineapple

Instructions

  1. Drain the crushed pineapple well.
  2. Mix melted butter and sugar until well combined.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the flour, baking soda, and salt until the dry ingredients are just incorporated.
  5. Add the drained pineapple and chopped nuts; mix well.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased pan.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes or until the top is nicely browned.
  8. Allow to cool, then cut into bars and sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.
