- Roll vanilla wafers to fine crumbs.
- Divide the crumbs and put half in an 8 x 10-inch shallow pan; save the other half for the top.
- Cream the softened butter and powdered sugar together well.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Pour the mixture over the crumbs in the pan.
- Drain juice from the crushed pineapple and spread the pineapple over the batter.
- Spread whipped cream over the pineapple.
- Sprinkle the remaining crumbs over the whipped cream and pat lightly into the top.
- Refrigerate for 12 hours before cutting and serving.
