Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup diced green pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 pound ground lean beef
  • 1 can whole kernel corn
  • 2 cans tomato soup
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 can green beans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Saute onion and green peppers in butter over low heat until tender in a 5-quart Dutch oven or stew pan.
  2. Add ground lean beef and cook slowly until beef browns.
  3. Add corn, tomato soup, sugar, and salt. Simmer gently until the stew is thoroughly heated.
