Ingredients

  • 2 loaves (1 lb. each) frozen bread dough
  • all-purpose flour
  • olive oil
  • 14 oz. pizza sauce
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano leaves
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 lb. grated Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 green pepper, minced
  • 2 to 3 oz. pepperoni, minced or chopped
  • 1 egg white, lightly beaten

Instructions

  1. Thaw frozen bread in the refrigerator overnight or at room temperature for 2 to 3 hours.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out each loaf into a circle about 10 inches in diameter.
  3. If the dough is difficult to roll, pat or stretch it with your hands until it is 1/4-inch thick.
  4. Brush the surface of each dough circle with olive oil.
  5. Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut each circle into 8 triangles or wedges.
  6. Generously spread each wedge with pizza sauce mixed with oregano and garlic powder, leaving about 1/4-inch margin on each side.
  7. Sprinkle grated mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, minced green pepper, and chopped pepperoni over the sauce.
  8. Starting from the wide end, roll up each triangle into a crescent shape.
  9. Curve the ends of the crescents to form a more rounded shape.
  10. Place the crescents on lightly oiled baking sheets.
  11. Brush the tops of the crescents with lightly beaten egg white.
  12. Sprinkle with additional oregano or Parmesan cheese if desired.
  13. Bake at 450°F for about 15 minutes, or until the crescents are golden brown.
