Ingredients

  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 1/2 lb. ground pork
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 onion
  • 1 chopped green pepper
  • 1/2 to 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Mix hamburger, ground pork, eggs, chopped onion, chopped green pepper, and milk together in a bowl.
  2. Add bread crumbs gradually until the mixture forms a patty consistency.
  3. Shape the mixture into patties.
  4. Brown the patties in a little oil until browned on both sides.
  5. Remove the patties and set aside.
  6. In the same pan, add water to the drippings and cook to make gravy.
  7. Thicken the gravy with a flour-water mixture.
  8. Return the patties to the gravy and simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
