Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 lb beef chuck
  • 3 Tbsp shortening
  • 1/4 c soy sauce
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 c water
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 2 sliced onions
  • 1 sliced green pepper (optional)
  • 3 medium tomatoes, sliced or 1 large can stewed tomatoes

Instructions

  1. Brown beef in shortening on top of stove.
  2. Add remaining ingredients.
  3. Simmer for 1 hour until tender.
  4. Serve over or with cooked white rice.
