Ingredients

  • 1 lb. franks
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 4 stalks celery, cut up
  • 1 large green pepper, cut up
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 small can pineapple chunks, drained
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Combine the syrup from pineapple chunks with water, vinegar, brown sugar, cornstarch, and soy sauce, then set aside.
  2. Saute onion and celery in oil until hot but not browned.
  3. Add franks, pineapple chunks, and the prepared sauce mixture to the skillet.
  4. Heat, stirring for 3 to 4 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  5. Add green pepper if desired and cook for an additional minute.
  6. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
