Ingredients

  • 2 pork chops
  • 1/3 cup rice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped onions
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon instant chicken bouillon granules
  • 1/2 cup chopped apple
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup sliced apples

Instructions

  1. Trim fat from the pork chops and cook to render 2 tablespoons of fat, then discard trimmings.
  2. Brown the pork chops and set aside.
  3. Cook rice and chopped onions until rice is golden, stirring constantly.
  4. Stir in water and chicken bouillon granules; bring to a boil and stir in chopped apple.
  5. Pour the mixture into a 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 x 2-inch baking dish.
  6. Arrange the browned pork chops on top of the rice mixture.
  7. Bake, covered, at 350°F for 30 minutes.
