Ingredients

  • 4 to 6 (1-inch) pork chops
  • salt
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • ground basil
  • thyme
  • 1 tsp. butter
  • 3/4 cup tomato juice

Instructions

  1. Rub salt, freshly ground black pepper, ground basil, and thyme into the pork chops.
  2. Sauté the chops for 7 minutes on each side.
  3. Meanwhile, bring tomato juice and consomme to a simmer.
  4. Add the pork chops to the simmering liquid.
  5. Bake, covered, at 325°F for 30 minutes.
