Pork Chops With Beer

Juicy pork chops simmered in a flavorful beer and garlic sauce with a hint of caraway, perfect for comforting dinners and pairing well with mashed potatoes or vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 4 pork chops, 1-inch thick
  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 c. light beer
  • 1 c. beef broth
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 tsp. caraway seed
  • 1 Tbsp. mustard

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, salt, and pepper in a plastic bag.
  2. Add pork chops and shake to coat.
  3. Brown chops on both sides in oil in a large skillet.
  4. Remove and keep warm.
  5. Drain off fat from skillet, leaving brown bits in the bottom.
  6. Add beer, broth, garlic, caraway seed, and mustard to the skillet.
  7. Bring to boiling, stirring and scraping to loosen brown bits.
  8. Lower heat and simmer until the liquid is reduced to 1 cup.
  9. Return chops to the skillet.
  10. Bring to boiling again.
  11. Cover and lower the heat.
  12. Simmer, turning once, about 45 minutes, until chops are tender.
  13. Serve chops with pan liquid spooned over.
