- Thaw the potatoes and melt the margarine or butter into the undiluted cream of chicken soup, then add the chopped onions and half of the grated cheese.
- Stir the thawed potatoes into this mixture and transfer to a large baking dish.
- Bake in a 350°F oven for 45 minutes.
- Remove from the oven, sprinkle the remaining cheese on top, and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
- Combine crushed corn flakes with a little melted butter and spread over the top of the casserole before serving.
