Ingredients

  • 2 lb. frozen hash brown potatoes
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 8 oz. grated Cheddar cheese
  • salt and pepper as desired
  • 1 lb. sour cream

Instructions

  1. Thaw the frozen hash brown potatoes for 30 minutes.
  2. Mix all ingredients—hash browns, cream of mushroom soup, diced onion, melted margarine, grated Cheddar cheese, salt, pepper, and sour cream—in a large bowl.
  3. Pour the mixture into a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
  4. Bake uncovered at 375°F (190°C) for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until bubbly and golden.
