Ingredients

  • 1 cup lentils
  • 1 quart tomatoes
  • 8 medium carrots
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 onions, chopped
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Soak lentils in cold water for 1 hour.
  2. Drain the lentils.
  3. Saute ground beef and chopped onions until the beef just loses color and onions are soft.
  4. Add the soaked lentils, tomatoes, carrots, salt, Worcestershire sauce, and pepper.
  5. Simmer until carrots are just done and flavors are blended.
