Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 36 pecan or walnut halves
  • ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups Bisquick baking mix
  • 1/3 cup applesauce
  • 1/3 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Place 2 teaspoons margarine, 2 teaspoons brown sugar, and 3 pecan halves in each of 12 muffin cups, 2 1/2 x 1 1/4-inch. Sprinkle cinnamon in each cup.
  2. Heat in oven until the margarine and sugar are melted and mixture is bubbly.
  3. Mix Bisquick, applesauce, and milk until a dough forms.
  4. Beat the dough with 20 strokes to develop gluten.
  5. Spoon the dough onto the mixture in each muffin cup, covering the pecans.
  6. Bake about 10 minutes at 450°F until golden brown.
