Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons soft butter or margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • shortening for frying
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Blend together the sugar, butter (or margarine), eggs, and milk.
  2. Mix the flour and baking powder together well, then add to the first mixture.
  3. Drop dough by teaspoons into hot shortening for frying.
  4. Fry until golden, turning once.
  5. When cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
