Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. ginger
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. canned or cooked pumpkin
  • 1/4 c. light molasses
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients.
  2. Bake in 9 x 5-inch loaf pan in a 350° oven for 60 to 70 minutes.
